Gasoline prices rise in 12 states and surpass R$4

Despite the drop in São Paulo, gasoline prices rose in 12 states and the Federal District. The R$4 gasoline market reached the entire country.

At the beginning of the week, the state-owned Petrobras had claimed that it would wait for the market to readjust before defining the transfers to the consumer.

Then, on Tuesday (17), Saudi Arabia announced that it would quickly resume production at the refinery.

That is, an atypical moment in the current moment, in which the international oil parameter fell 6.5%.

The impact forced the state-owned company to wait for market behavior to challenge the pricing policy and wait for the reaction of the population and truck drivers.

The price

The price increase is a reflection of an attack on the Saudi Aramco oil company in Saudi Arabia, which impacted half of the country's production. In fact, the average price increased by 0.16% in Brazil.

In the most populous city, São Paulo, one of the largest consumers of the most, the liter fell by 0.12%. In other words, from R$4.080 it fell on average to around R$4.075.

There were 12 states affected and the Federal District, according to data from ANP – National Petroleum Agency -, there was an increase of 0.16% in the value of national pumps.

From R$4,310 to R$4,317, even if it's just a little, it makes a difference for those who spend a lot of time on wheels.

In the cradle of Minas Gerais, there was an increase in gasoline from R$4.556 to R$4.562 per liter.

THE oil price has always had great risks, which we are currently suffering from. In fact, it is a good move to wait for the price to normalize before raising it. We can even wait for more.

Gasoline prices are rising, but we need to keep an eye on the Middle East. The price could rise at any moment. However, if the market normalizes, it could fall again.

In this unstable scenario, other types of fuel may be the solution. The greater the risk, the higher the price.

The solutions

Ethanol and natural gas are more stable and guarantee savings during peak gasoline prices. If you have car flex, when the price of alcohol corresponds to 70% of gasoline, it is worth changing.

As for CNG, an analysis of installation and maintenance costs is required.

We hope that they will remain stable until the end of the year. The most curious thing is that the increase in gasoline prices makes people want to buy more ethanol fuel.

In fact, the poor population is the most affected by the increase]

Approximately 65% of sugarcane production is destined for alcohol, since producers are not seeing any advantage in sugar. The solution is to use natural gas, but as a last resort, alcohol.

We are the ones who lose

Consumers are concerned about rising gasoline prices.

The increase in fuel prices, especially diesel. Due to freight, everything goes up in price, including products. After all, everything depends on the delivery trucks.

And who wins? The government. People can no longer bear paying without getting anything in return. What is paid in taxes is more than the profit margin of the gas stations.
